It's
no secret how Jen Calonita knows the inside scoop on young
Hollywood. A former Senior Entertainment Editor at Teen
People, Jen has interviewed everyone from Reese Witherspoon
to Zac Efron. An entertainment journalist for the past ten
years, Jen has written for TV Guide, Glamour and Marie Claire.
Jen's
first novel, Secrets of My Hollywood
Life, was about a teen starlet named Kaitlin Burke
who tires of the fame game and decides to hide out in high
school disguised as someone else. Us Weekly's Mara
Reinstein said about Secrets:
"At last! A witty, entertaining and refreshingly honest
take on what it's really like to be a celebrity 'It' girl."
The
sequel to Secrets, Secrets
of My Hollywood Life: On Location, was published
this past May. The third book in the series, Secrets
of My Hollywood Life: Family Affairs, is out now.
Jen is now hard at work on Secrets of My Hollywood Life:
Paparazzi Princess (after which she'll write Secrets
of My Hollywood Life: in New York). She's also working
on a book about camp counselors-in-training called Sleepaway
Girls. Secrets 4 and Sleepaway Girls
will be published in spring 2009.
When the self-professed entertainment junkie is not working,
she can be found doing one of three things: going to the movies,
working on a home improvement project or watching Ugly
Betty. Jen resides in Merrick, New York with her husband
Mike, son Tyler and their Chihuahua Captain Jack Sparrow.
The Secrets of My Hollywood Life series is published by Hachette Book Group and is part of the Poppy line, along with other bestselling series from Alloy Entertainment such as Gossip Girl, The Clique, and The A-List. Drop by the Secrets section of the Poppy website.
